Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron Clubhouse is rebuilt from the ground up.
The larger three-level clubhouse features improved facilities and function spaces. While building works are underway, temporary member facilities are being provided so the club can continue operations.
Located at 2900 Point Nepean Road, Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron Clubhouse offers full service bar and dining facilities to members and visitors. The clubhouse has a more striking external appearance, improved functionality, better change rooms, bigger deck with space for barbecues and administration offices.
The design of Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron Clubhouse is sympathetic to the area. Original timber from the slipway is being recycled and reused for stairs, joinery and feature cladding on the external facade. Detailing must consider seaside weather, wind and sand. Materials must also guard against rust.
Basso Project Management dealt with numerous approval processes from various statutory authorities including the Mornington Peninsula Shire and the Department of Environment and Primary Industries.
“This project means a lot to me because as a child my family had a holiday home in Blairgowrie that my dad built. We used to come down every chance we got, always dropping in to original Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron Clubhouse. To play such an important part in its renewal makes me incredibly happy.” Elia Basso, Director, Basso Project Management
