Rural Exhibition Centre in Bendigo is the largest in regional Victoria.
The multipurpose rural exhibition centre at the Bendigo Showgrounds in Holmes Road houses a range of events including the Australian Sheep and Wool Show.
The masterplan for the 7,000 square metre facility provides maximum flexibility and included the removal and replacement of some buildings, extended landscaping, new car parking and dramatic improvement to the overall presentation of the showgrounds.
Basso Project Management worked closely with the City of Greater Bendigo, Bendigo Agricultural Show Society, Australian Sheep Breeders Association, various interest groups and the community at large to deliver a centre that meets multiple uses.
This required interviewing all stakeholders to incorporate a broad range of needs and wants. Basso Project Management undertook a great deal of due diligence and master planning to align often diverging agendas.
Basso Project Management attended every briefing session with every user group to ensure everyone’s interests were represented.
“This was a very politically sensitive project. It was incredibly challenging to keep everyone involved and up to date. But it’s been incredibly rewarding to see how important it’s become to the community.” Elia Basso, Director, Basso Project Management
